Upside Down Design - June 16-20

Math-Space Scientist: Design and build a camera instrument payload to be launched on a weather balloon that will travel 20 miles up into the sky. See and enjoy a bird’s eye view of Orlando from your own design and creation.

Art-Picture Perfect: Using Art to Learn the Elements/Principles of Design Students will learn the basic foundations of art with fun hands on art projects creating one of a kind original artwork with many artists’ materials.

Science-Roller Coaster Physics: Discover the physics and mathematics behind roller coasters as we take a thrilling ride through twists, loops and sharp turns. Apply Newton’s Laws to design, build and test various roller coasters, and work as a team to build the ultimate coaster. After you’ve created your coaster, decorate it and design an aerodynamic car to make it the coolest coaster in the park.

Logic-Game Strategies: So you like to play games? What is the likelihood that you will win? What is the probability that you will lose? What are the chances that you and your opponent will tie the game? Are you sure?? Come learn, explore and develop statistical skills, strategies, and concepts through creative hands-on experiences! Let the games begin!


Artistic Doctor - July 7-11

Math-Mathematical Artist: What do Artists, Scientists, Architects and Biochemists have in common? Mathematical Art! Explore 2 and 3 dimensional art as seen through the eyes of professionals who work with it daily through online surfing, text examples and then create your own. You will visit and create tessellations, origami, curved stitchery, knot art, polyhedrons, make your own kaleidoscope and design a theme park.

Art-Guilty or Not Guilty? Mock Trial: Are you creative? Do you love to act? Come join the fun of the working on a mock trial. Live the experience of becoming a judge, an attorney, a jury member or a witness. Develop self-confidence, performance, presentation, and poise skills with this one of kind hands-on experience.

Science-Junior Doctor - Brains: Your body seems to be all one piece, but it is actually made up of trillions of tiny pieces, called cells. In this hands on interactive class students will explore how different kinds of cells have different kinds of jobs. Learn about Lung cells, Muscle cells, and Brain cells. Even take a look at some of your own cells! Find the surface area of your skin! Build a Brain!
